I read an article on dogster that really piqued my interest. Does your dog’s personality match yours? As it says in the article, every dog’s personality is different, and in working with corgi rescue and living with five dogs I’ve had a first hand look into this. All the rescues we’ve had have had their own personality, their own attitude despite being all corgi (in the case of some, just mostly corgi.) It’s the best feeling in the world when we find the right family for a dog. That moment when their personalities mesh with their new hooman makes my heart all mushy and gross. Like with Winchester, I knew from the moment I met him he needed a young rough and tumble guy to go on adventures with, and the first person to apply for him was just that. They went together like two peas in a pod from the moment they met.
I know Henry and I are personality match up perfection. Love and cuddles are number one, but a pretty strong wanderlust lies in both of us. He’s calm unless there is something he just can’t resist getting worked up about, and I’m the same way. Not to mention the abundance of silliness we partake in.
I’m not sure if he took his cues from me to be that way, or if he was just like that his whole life. Whichever way, I’m glad I’ve got him to share my days with.
That being said, do you think your pup is a mirror personality to you? Or are you on the train of opposites attract. Any thoughts?
